I hate that I sort of ripped DBZ off for this part, but when you're on fire with long hair and flames streak through your hair pushing it upwards, that's what it looks like! Geez!
Also, apparently in this universe, there was a chance to reverse Darrin's condition, but he can't do it if he uses his powers in public. Go figure.
